The Senate passed a committee substitute to SB 801, which will create more river access points in West Virginia! It is now before the House Government Organization Committee -- and we need your support to help get it to the full House for a vote!
This is a commonsense bill that makes state agencies consider providing river access from any new or substantially renovated bridge. Any river access would have to be practicable, reasonable, and safe. No access to private lands is permitted.
Our rivers are a treasure. We paddle and swim in them, depend on them for healthy habitats that support hunting and fishing, and rely on them to sustain our outdoor recreation economy!
Urge your State Delegate and members of the House Government Organization Committee to move the committee substitute for SB 801 through the Committee and vote "YES" on the floor!
Share your story. West Virginia Rivers Coalition always encourages you to customize your letters to decision-makers. Tell leaders why river access is important to you and your community.
