House Bill 5018 prohibits the use of data collected by community air monitoring devices in court, hindering both the public and WVDEP from holding industrial polluters accountable for the harm inflicted.
HB 5018 has passed the House of Delegates and is currently under consideration by the WV State Senate.
We need your help to tell your leaders in the State Senate that we want them to Vote No on HB 5018.
Consider this: WVDEP operates only 18 monitoring sites, covering a mere 13 out of our 55 counties. This glaring gap in monitoring leaves 42 counties without adequate air quality assessment despite the fact that West Virginia ranks fourth in the nation for asthma rates.
It's time to take a stand for clean air and the well-being of every West Virginian. Contact your State Senators today and let them know that you insist on the right to defend your family and community against air pollution.
Take action now! Fill out the form to contact your State Senators and urge them to vote against the "Unclean Air Act." →
