Join us in celebrating and protecting our cherished public lands by taking action and sharing your story. Advocate for the natural spaces that inspire us all!
How It Works
1️⃣ Visit Your Favorite Public Land
Take a hike, have a picnic, or just enjoy the view!
2️⃣ Contact Your Representative(s)
Call, visit, or write a hand-written letter to at least one of your Senators or Delegate explaining why YOU care about public lands.
3️⃣ Share Your Story
Post or share a photo from your public lands visit, tag us on social media @wvrivers @wv4publiclands, and include the name/district of the representative you contacted. You can also use the hashtag #WVPublicLandsChallenge.

Public lands are more than scenic destinations -- they’re vital to our health, economy, and environment. Your voice can help ensure they’re protected for generations to come. By contacting your representatives, you’re helping shape policies that preserve these special places.
Did you know? At the State level, you have two Senators and one Representative.
What You’ll Get
When you participate, we’ll send you a custom ‘Explore, Conserve, Repeat.’ sticker as a token of appreciation. Wear it with pride, knowing you’ve taken action to #ProtectPublicLands! Again, to receive the sticker, you must complete the form on this page.
