Hi there,

Thunder Mountain Environmental Services, an out-of-state company, is seeking an air permit to release emissions from a medical waste incinerator near Ravenswood, WV in Jackson County.

While few details are known about the impacts of waste-to-fuel operations, the draft permit indicates carcinogens will be released into the air if this waste-to-fuel incinerator is allowed to operate.

Moreover, there are many unanswered questions regarding how waste will be accepted, processed, and disposed of, leaving us in the dark about the full extent of its impacts.

The WVDEP Division of Air Quality is about to decide on the air permit. We encourage you to voice your about potential environmental impacts and health concerns for surrounding communities before the comment period closes on Thursday, July 27.

Join us in telling the WVDEP Division of Air Quality that we do not want an out-of-state company profiting from hauling in tons of toxic trash to pollute and dispose of in our communities.

In the town of Follansbee, West Virginians have already taken a stand against toxic facilities like this. We must follow their lead in Ravenswood, and anywhere our land, water, and environment are threatened.

Together, we can create a cleaner, safer, and healthier future for all.

More soon,

WV Rivers Coalition
