Join Us for Snapshot Day on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Stuart Recreation Center in Elkins, WV to Celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary Celebration of the Water Quality Monitoring Program!
Volunteers from the WV-VA Water Quality Monitoring Program will gather in the Monongahela National Forest to capture a "snapshot" of water quality in our most pristine headwater streams.
Volunteers will work in teams, each receiving maps and instructions to help establish baseline conditions and track changes in water quality over time. Our goal is to expand our dataset to cover eight routes in the Mon Forest. The data collected will help assess the health of our headwaters in the Mon Forest.
This year, we also look forward to showing our volunteers who have helped us watchdog our WV waters over the past 10 years how much we appreciate and value their commitment to clean water!
Please register to join us by completing the form on this webpage. Please note that space is limited.
*No water quality monitoring experience is required to participate. You will be paired with a trained monitor.*
